Landscape Photography Tips

Road to better landscape Photography!

Landscape Photography
is the most popular category among all photographers. It is outdoor photography, mostly focuses on trees, deserts, beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers, landforms, weather, changing of the season, and all other views of nature. Sometimes shooting Farmland, gardens are considered as landscape but its mostly nature's photography.

Landscape Photography Tips:

 1  Depth:

Landscape Photography is contained so many thighs to look at, and we need to make it like 3D, with foreground, midground, background so the viewer will think they can reach into the photo. Without depth, your photo will look like a snapshot. Remember a lot of time you might be not able to find foreground and midground then you have to play with light, shadow, and reflection.

 2  Choose Subject

All types of photography are based on highlighting the subject in a beautiful way. In landscape, you have to keep a subject on focus otherwise viewer may get distracted where should he/she look at. Try to keep your Subject in the Midground (But there is always an exception.).

 3  Remove Distractions:

When you keeping the object in focus you need to avoid nearby distractions, like footsteps on the sand in the beach, tree branches, etc. otherwise, it will distract the viewer.

 4  Use HDR:

When you carrying a camera with a full setup of lens its better to use a Polarizing filter to darken the sky in bright light. It will bring more details of the sky. And on a bright day when you need to shoot a movement of water then slowing down the shutter speed is quite impossible, then you need a Neutral Density Filter to prevent too much light to enter Camera. If you using a smartphone turn on the HDR option or play with the Light meter.

 5  Capture Movement:

Choose a long exposure, when you are capturing moving water, It will create a stunning white water effect. If working in bright daylight you must use an ND filter to reduce the amount of light entering the camera sensor, and this way the camera will allow you to have a longer shutter time. You must always use a good tripod for this kind of shot so that the rest of your image remains sharp.

 6  Compose in Thirds:

To use the rule of thirds, turn on grid mode on your camera. Grid is two horizontal and two vertical lines across the image creating nine even squares. Some images might look best with the focal point in the center square, but placing the subject off-center at one of the intersecting points. It's called the rule of thirds, A picture with the rule of thirds is usually more interesting and pleasing to the eye.

For beginners, it is always good to shoot as much as possible. Although landscape photography looks great in the golden hour but shooting in midday is better than not shooting at all. But remember bright sunlight will make your beautiful nature photography is so harsh, so try to capture on the time of sunrise and sunset.

Don't fix your camera as soon as you reach your shooting destination. First, see the view and imagine how it will look like in-camera. Find a better angle, better object, better time to improve your capture. And shoot as many as possible if you are new to this field. Many times you maybe wait for hours to get a good light or perfect cloud positioning.

 C  Conclusion:
Landscapes Photography is favorite with photographers because you get to spend time in the outdoors and be with nature.

You may have to sit for many hours to get one perfect shot. That one shot will make your heart fulfill.

Always remember patience and practice are the keys to develop skills and be able to capture perfect photos of your own.
